GMail 2.0 Catches Up With Competition

The latest version of Gmail for the iPhone and iPad has an elegant new design -- closer to that of Google Plus -- and several new features. Some of the improvements merely bring it up-to-date with competitors. Others, such as search, should make you think about switching from Apple's Mail.

Calendar Invitations

Google's made a big deal of this feature on its blog. Coming from Apple's Mail, where invitations are integrated already in much the same way, it feels more like Gmail is catching up to the competition than bypassing it.
