Who Would We Miss? Microsoft, Yes. Apple? Sort Of. RIM, Definitely.

Imagine if one of the major technology companies disappeared without a trace. No more of its products, no more support. Which company would we miss and which would be no great loss? We asked ourselves this question about Microsoft, Google, Apple, IBM, RIM, and some other biggies. Here's what we think.

Apple: Business Would Go On.

No question, the disappearance of Apple would cause the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments the world over, but the level of business addiction to Apple products is puny next to Microsoft addiction, and workable--if less cool--substitutes are available.
