I am a very successful 47-year-old sales rep specializing in industrial sales and would really like to switch to the computer industry. Most job postings ask for several years of computer-related experience. With my background, I know I would do well in either hardware or software sales. Are there companies that have a strong training program that could use a very successful sales representative?

Yes! Everywhere! There are start-ups as well as small consulting firms selling both services and products. You'll need to swallow the bitter pill and enter in at a base between $40,000 and $60,000 plus commission, but the opportunity is definitely there.

More Questions:
What's the best way to approach mannagement for a raise?

I am looking into changing jobs, but want to concentrate on the computer side rather than business, how should I pursue this?
