I'm working as a network engineer for a self-supporting nonprofit Internet company. I've got 11 years of experience in computer communications, but only on-the-job training, technical schooling, and self-study in that time. I spent 7 1/2 years in the Air Force, and 3 1/2 with this current company. My company pays 100% of tuition and books while I'm going to school at night, and I'm receiving GI Bill benefits at the same time. Should I take my skills and try for a better-paying job, and work for a degree from possible increased pay, or finish a degree in MIS or other related-degree field, and move on later?

Finish your degree; it will definitely pay off in the long run. Sound commitment to completing your degree will bode well on your behalf. In looking at other opportunities, it will show your focus. Take advantage of the reimbursement benefits while you are in your current company. As long as you are continuing to increase your skill set and grow professionally, you will maintain your marketability.

More Questions:
I want to move on but I'm afraid I won't find another position with the skill I have.

I'm trying to re-enter the workforce but I'm not sure how to start.
