I am 22 and seeking a career in the computer science field. I am halfway through my associate's degree, after which I will seek my bachelor's degree in computer science. I am thinking of taking C, C++, Java, and maybe a couple of other programming courses. What is my likelihood of landing a job in the information technology field? My reasoning in wanting to get a job after my A.A. is so while I am seeking my B.A., I would be receiving first-hand experience.

Very high! I like your career planning and would only caution you not to get swayed by the demands of working a job and the challenges of continuing education. I would rather you do the four-year degree than the possibility you throw in the towel a year after you get your associate's degree because the allure and commitments are so high.

More Questions:
My goal is to become a CIO. Should I pursue a techno-MBA or a management of technology degree?

Will the lack of a degree affect my marketability?
