Career Counsel

I've been working in the IT industry for the last five years. I intend to go for a management degree in IT. I have two options: a two-year MBA or a one-year master's in E-commerce. The master's is actually a management degree totally focused on E-commerce and is from a very highly ranked university, while the MBA is from a slightly lower ranked institute. Which degree will be more helpful over the long run?

I am biased: I'd go with the E-commerce degree. All of the big-company clients I deal with love the concentration. I think in the short and long run, the E-commerce degree will suit you better.

More Questions:
Should I continue on the technical path, or to move to management, and eventually become a high-level executive on technologies in a small-to-midsize company?

When is the right time to move to pursue my goal to become a VP in IT?
