Garbage Collector
"Aawww, Rubbish!" made some excellent points; however, it missed a major area: data life cycle management (May 8, 2006). Simply put, you have to remember to take out the garbage. While there are circumstances in which input data is bad, often we find that the data captured was good. The garbage problem frequently arises when data isn't retired and removed when it has been superseded, has become stale, or is no longer valid.

Keep IT Talent In U.S.
I'm in complete agreement with the need to do away with the H-1B cap ("Time To Doff H-1B Cap?" May 8, 2006). The United States needs skilled knowledge workers. We're faced with two choices: hire skilled knowledge workers outside the United States, such as via outsourcing, or hire them and have them work here. The latter is more attractive for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the ability to retain expertise within our borders.
