Get Used To 'No'
IT will rightly move more toward a culture of no, at least in regard to "innovations" that have potentially negative security impacts ("A Culture Of 'No,'" June 26). Many of the bleeding-edge technologies that users experiment with are at best unproven in terms of security. At worst, they're full of security issues.
IT organizations generally have their hands full dealing with current threats and managing compliance efforts. And at the senior management level, there's justifiably more concern with questions like "Are we in compliance, and are we protecting our (and our customer's) private information appropriately?" than "Are we implementing the latest cutting-edge technology?"

I think you've missed the point ("Foreign Workers Underpaid," June 26). The GAO found that a "miniscule" number of employers were breaking the law. It didn't find that most employers are paying H-1Bs the same as Americans. The loopholes in the law let H-1Bs legally be paid less than Americans.
