Congratulations on doing a great job tackling one of the biggest battles in recent app history ("The Fight Is On," Oct. 16).
I'm an avid Firefox hater, not because I have great love for Microsoft, but because it has failed to do almost everything I need it to do, such as load bug databases at work and stream music from some important Web sites that I use.
Having said that, Firefox is markedly faster than IE, and as a director in my field, having speed is insanely important to getting work done.
Long story short, Firefox has a distinct edge over IE overall because of its speed, despite my personal complaints about its functionality.

Reader Greg Marston dislikes the term "pretexting" and wants it to be replaced by the term "fraud" ("Don't Mince Words," Oct. 16.
The better term is lying. Now all we need is to get Congress to pass a law making it illegal. I won't hold my breath.
Seriously, you can't protect yourself from liars unless you can prevent people from being so gullible.
