1. When and where is the event?
The InformationWeek 500 Conference is September 9-11, 2012 at the St. Regis Monarch Beach, 1 Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, California. Please note that the conference will begin on Sunday, September 9th with the annual golf tournament and the Awards Gala will be held on Tuesday evening, September 11th. Please plan your departure for Wednesday, Sept 12th.
2. Who typically attends the event?
95% of the attendees are senior level title executives (VP, Director or above)
92% of the attendees have annual budgets of over $5 million
70% are organizations with over 2500 employees
49% of attendees are C Level (CXO/CIO/President/General Manager)
44% of attendees are VP IS/IT/Managing Director/ Director
3. How many people can we have attend the full event?
Companies selected to the top 500 receive one complimentary registration pass (valued at $1,695) for a senior IT executive from their organization to attend the 2012 InformationWeek 500 Conference and Awards Gala. If you would like to bring additional executives, let us know and can provide further details. All registrants are subject to approval by InformationWeek.
4. Can my spouse attend the conference? If so what is the cost and how do I register them?
Yes, your spouse can attend the dinners and golf outing on Sunday. There is a companion fee of $175 and this includes participation in the conference meals and networking receptions. You will have the opportunity to "add a guest" when you complete your registration online at: www.informationweekconference.com.
5. Why are you asking for a credit card to guarantee my conference registration if it's complimentary?
We have incorporated a commitment pledge of $350 to hold your registration. This is to ensure that all cancellations are received in writing to informationweek500@techweb.com on or before August 20th 2012. Your credit card is not charged nor will it be charged if you are unable to attend and cancel on or before August 20th. You can however substitute an attendee to replace a registered guest who can longer attend. All registered guest are subject to approval by InformationWeek.
6. When will the hotel discounted rate be available and what is the deadline for booking?
A block of rooms at the St. Regis Monarch Beach has been reserved at a discounted room rate of $255 plus 10.16% tax (the resort fees have been waived for all conference attendees (a value of $25.00 a day) for attendees. The hotel sold out the past 4 years, so please reserve early by clicking here or calling 949-234-3200. Your hotel reservation must be secured by a credit card deposit of one night's room rate and tax. Be sure to identify yourself as part of the InformationWeek 500 Conference to receive the discounted rate. Please reserve your rooms as soon as possible. The deadline for booking is August 27, 2012. The conference website also includes hotel information.
7. Can I cancel my hotel reservation without a penalty?
Should you need to cancel your hotel reservation, please contact the hotel directly at 949-234-3200. The deposit of one night's room rate and tax will be retained by the St. Regis Monarch Beach if the cancellation/change is made within three days (72 hours) of your scheduled arrival date. InformationWeek is not responsible for any hotel reservations, cancellations, changes or charges.
8. When I register online for the conference, what is included?
This will depend on which registration option you have chosen. For qualified attendees, the Full Conference Pass includes: entrance to the InformationWeek 500 Conference, The Annual Golf Outing, InformationWeek 500 Awards Dinner, Conference sessions, breakfast, lunch, keynotes, and special events. For a nominal fee, you will have the option to, just attend the Awards dinner and/or bring a companion to the conference. Please note that your hotel stay is not included and you will need to book your overnight accommodations directly with the St. Regis.
9. Is the transportation and hotel included in the registration?
No. You will need to book your own air, ground transportation, and hotel reservations and those costs are your responsibility.
10. What transportation is provided to the event?
You are responsible for reserving your transportation and any costs associated with it. However a car service form is available for you to reserve your service at a special discounted rate. Please see the venue tab on our website for details on the transportation options available from the area airports.
11. What is the closest airport to the hotel?
The St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach is located on 172 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Dana Point, CA between Los Angeles and San Diego. The resort is easily accessible from 3 major airports: John Wayne/Orange County (SNA) - 21 miles, Los Angeles International (LAX) - 65 miles and San Diego International (SAN) - 70 miles.

13. When will the 2012 InformationWeek 500 companies be publicly announced?
The InformationWeek 500 will be announced at the 2012 InformationWeek Conference and Awards Gala on September 11, 2012. The full list of winners will appear both in the 2012 InformationWeek 500 issue and online at informationweek.com/500.
14. Will my company be invited to the stage?
The top 10 winners are brought to the stage for recognition of their accomplishments and to receive their award.
15. Do I need to prepare anything ahead of time for the Awards dinner?
No preparation is needed.
16. How do we obtain a trophy?
To gain access to the 2012 InformationWeek 500 Winner logo, please work with our partner, Wright's Reprints. Wright's Reprints will also be able to help you with: Article Reprints, e-prints and permissions.

17. How do we obtain information for a press release and when can we issue a release announcing we won?
In July all companies selected for the TOP 500 will be notified and provided a special link to the PR portal with guidelines and templates. Rankings will not be publicly announced until Sept 11th at the Awards Gala. All press releases must be held until Sept 12, 2012.

19. When will the awards be highlighted in the magazine?
The InformationWeek 500 issue will come out Sept 17th after the winners are announced at the Awards on Tuesday night.

25. What is the dress code?
For the awards dinner men typically wear a coat and tie, while women wear dressy business suits or cocktail attire. Business casual attire applies for the conference session and all of the other events.
