August 25, 1999 Click And Spend They're becoming the late '90s version of Kasey Kasem's countdown or the Billboard charts: lists of the most popular Web commerce sites. The latest, unveiled this week, is the NextCard eCommerce Index, which measures the number of online purchases made on each site with the NextCard Visa card. The top five in July were America Online, Amazon.com, OnSale, Buy.com and CD Now/Music Boulevard. No real surprises there, but more interesting are the "Big Movers" compared with the previous month. Grocery delivery service Webvan and IBM Internet Services jumped more than 1,000%, while 1-800-Flowers was among those falling more than 30%. What, no roses for the Fourth of July? |
