Uptime in the cloud is better?
If what Adrian is saying is correct, than the simplified environment and automated functions of the cloud are a better guarantee of uptime than building and running your own data center with exactly what you want. The curse of the enterprise data center is that every business group wants its own best of breed application and the infrastructure to support, even if one set of servers and storage are completely different from another. The cloud imposes uniform infrastructure and (hopefully) tested management techniques.
