The 2009 Hemi Hybrid Aspen is one of Chrysler's first two volume production hybrid vehicles.  With regenerative braking and an electric-only mode for speeds of up to 25 MPH on the Aspen, fuel economy is expected to be 18 mpg city/19 mpg highway. The standard version gets 13 mpg city/18 mpg highway.  The Aspen's Hemi V-8 engine. The Mulitple Displacement System (MDS) shuts down four of the eight cylinders when less power is needed.  The 2008 Chrysler Sebring's 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder engine can run on E85 fuel (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). MPG is 18 city / 26 highway.  Chrysler says half of its vehicles will be capable of operating on alternative fuels by 2012.  A Toyota Prius retrofitted with a 120-cell, 1.2 kWh NiZn battery pack by PowerGenix. The company makes sealed rechargeable nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries.  The NiZn battery pack from PowerGenix weighs about 35% less than the battery pack the Prius ships with. CEO Dan Squiller said his company's aqueous-based battery pack costs 50% less and has a higher percentage of recyclable materials than lithium ion batteries for the Prius in development by A123 Systems. It can print spots and lines from 1 - 20 microns in diamter, which is useful for performing single-cell studies.  To minimize the instrument's footprint, the Nano Enabler's computer has been integrated into the controller.  The C02 Snow Jet from Applied Surface Technologies delivers a blast of carbon dioxide in gas or liquid form to remove particles from Si wafers, polymers, metals, optics, and other substrates without abrasion or chemical residue.  The Vibra-Cell from Sonic is an ultrasonic liquid processor for dispersing, cleaning, and desegregating materials such as CNTs.
