The 2008 Chrysler Sebring's 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder engine can run on E85 fuel (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). MPG is 18 city / 26 highway.

The 2009 Hemi Hybrid Aspen is one of Chrysler's first two volume production hybrid vehicles.  With regenerative braking and an electric-only mode for speeds of up to 25 MPH on the Aspen, fuel economy is expected to be 18 mpg city/19 mpg highway. The standard version gets 13 mpg city/18 mpg highway.  The Aspen's Hemi V-8 engine. The Mulitple Displacement System (MDS) shuts down four of the eight cylinders when less power is needed.  The 2008 Chrysler Sebring's 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder engine can run on E85 fuel (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). MPG is 18 city / 26 highway.  Chrysler says half of its vehicles will be capable of operating on alternative fuels by 2012.  A Toyota Prius retrofitted with a 120-cell, 1.2 kWh NiZn battery pack by PowerGenix. The company makes sealed rechargeable nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries.  The NiZn battery pack from PowerGenix weighs about 35% less than the battery pack the Prius ships with. CEO Dan Squiller said his company's aqueous-based battery pack costs 50% less and has a higher percentage of recyclable materials than lithium ion batteries for the Prius in development by A123 Systems. But the NiZn pack has less capacity.  Got tubes? Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) packaged for sale by cheaptubes.com. CNTs have "the highest reversible capacity of any carbon material for use in lithium ion batteries" and may also be used in fuel cells.  A benchtop vibration isolation unit from Halcyonics. Anti-vibration systems are used with highly sensitive equipment such as atomic force microscopes (AFM) and other high-resolution measuring instruments used in nanotechnology R&D and manufacturing.  A Halyconics benchtop vibration isolation unit displaying summarized data on vibration conditions.  This atomic force microscopes (AFM) from WiTec can investigate material properties of a sample on the nanometer scale, to reveal optical and chemical information in addition to structural and surface data.  An Easton bat, and bicycle handlebars (foreground) made with multi-wall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) from Arkema. CNTs are 16 times stronger than steel.  The Nano Enabler benchtop molecular printer from BioForce Nanosciences, dispenses biomolecules, nanoparticles and other liquids onto a wide variety of surfaces. It can print spots and lines from 1 - 20 microns in diamter, which is useful for performing single-cell studies.  To minimize the instrument's footprint, the Nano Enabler's computer has been integrated into the controller.  The C02 Snow Jet from Applied Surface Technologies delivers a blast of carbon dioxide in gas or liquid form to remove particles from Si wafers, polymers, metals, optics, and other substrates without abrasion or chemical residue.  The Vibra-Cell from Sonic is an ultrasonic liquid processor for dispersing, cleaning, and desegregating materials such as CNTs.
