The Mac Mini was Apple's attempt at a minimalist and inexpensive consumer desktop.

The Mac Mini was Apple's attempt at a minimalist and inexpensive consumer desktop.  The iMac combines the CPU and monitor in a single unit with an extremely attractive design.  The Mac Pro is the one you want if power and flexibility are more important to you than style.  The MacBook is a solid notebook that has some multimedia capabilities.  The MacBook Pro offers a version with a 17-inch screen for those who are serious about their multimedia.  Apple's iPhone has created a revolution in communications devices.  The AppleTV pushes audio and video from your computer to other media devices in your house.  Apple's smallest iPod, the Shuffle, is now available in five colors: blue, pink, green, orange and the original silver.  The new iPod classic features 80GB or 160GB of storage that holds up to 40,000 songs or 200 hours of video.  The latest iPod nano offers an enhanced user interface featuring Cover Flow, and a larger two-inch display.  The newly-introduced iPod touch features the iPhone's multi-touch user interface and incorporates Wi-Fi wireless networking.  1Passwd provides a secure tool for managing accounts and passwords.  SplashID is a cross-platform tool for storing accounts and passwords which runs on the Mac, Windows, and more.  Adium is an instant message client that connects to AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo, Google Talk, Jabber, and more.  The free Chicken of the VNC client lets you access PCs, Macs, or Linux computers across the Internet or a local network.  Parallels lets you run Windows apps on a Mac: Here you see Internet Explorer running on Windows XP on the Mac.   Quicksilver is a powerful tool for launching applications, opening Web sites, appending to text files, and more, all from the keyboard.  TextExpander can be programmed to expand a few keystrokes into a longer snippet of text.   NeoOffice is a free office suite that's an alternative to Microsoft Office. Writer is the word-processing component.  NeoOffice Impress is a presentation creator; another segment of the free office suite.  You can buy music and video from Apple using the iTunes store.  Microsoft makes its Office suite available for the Mac (however, there are plenty of free and inexpensive alternatives).
