NSA is on the front lines of cybersecurity, helping other agencies with guidance, engineering, and threat analysis. Agencies sometimes use NSA red teams to probe their networks for weak points. NSA has also been a key player in establishing cybersecurity standards for use government. The agency recently developed the Secure Mobile Environment Portable Electronic Device, which lets intelligence and military officials send and receive classified phone calls and e-mails and browse secret Web sites.
