Brook Colangelo, CIO, Office of the President, White House
As White House CIO, Brook Colangelo doesn't have a huge budget, but he does have an important role: supporting IT-savvy President Barack Obama and his staff.
Colangelo has had to provide the president with a secure Blackberry to communicate with senior staff and a small circle of outsiders. He also oversees desktops, servers, mobile devices, and other systems and applications in use at the White House.
Before joining the White House, Colangelo was CIO of the Democratic National Convention Committee and served on the Obama transition team. Earlier, he was an IT manager at the American Red Cross, where he oversaw IT efforts for hurricane recovery.
