Although Obama publicly has said he has never used Twitter, the president's official Twitter account has more than 5.5 million followers and is following more than 700,000 people. Organizing for America -- a special project of the Democratic National Committee -- runs the Barack Obama account. The official White House Twitter account has more than 1.8 million followers and itself follows about 100 people. In March, French police arrested a man for allegedly hacking into the president's Twitter account.
