InformationWeek 500: How The InformationWeek 500 Are Selected

What goes into putting our rankings together.

Now in its 22nd year, the InformationWeek 500 recognizes business technology teams that have made a demonstrable impact on the way their organizations do business.

To be ranked, companies with revenue of $250 million or more must complete a rigorous application on their technology strategies. The process is quantitative and qualitative. Applications are reviewed by a panel of InformationWeek editors, who determine the final ranking. The data is aggregated across all InformationWeek 500 companies and by industry; individual company data isn't disclosed without permission.

The 2011 InformationWeek 500 application period opens in January. You can pre-register at informationweek.com/500/preregister. For more information, visit the Resource Center at informationweek.com/iw500. You can send questions to iw500@techweb.com.

The InformationWeek 500 Analytics report, which includes all the aggregated data from the survey, can be downloaded free, for a limited time, at informationweek.com/analytics/2010/500.
