P.S. I didn't mean that Surescripts was breaking down but that the isolation of e-prescribing from other clinical communications is starting to disappear.

Somewhere down the line, that will probably happen. But right now, few physicians are prescribing mHealth apps or communicating online with home care providers. For prescribing drugs, they're using a dedicated channel to pharmacies. But that is starting to break down as Surescripts builds its Health Information Network for all kinds of clinical messaging.

All in one?
Ultimately, I'd think docs will want to have one mechanism for prescribing medications, apps, and services (such as home nursing care) in a streamlined way. Is that too much to ask?
