Hospitals May Get Financial Booster

A bill introduced last week by Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., could be a shot in the arm for hospitals that need financial help for their Internet billing and electronic drug-ordering projects. If approved, Kennedy's eHealth Care Act would provide $350 million in grants in fiscal 2003. The act also sets standards for health-insurance transactions over the Internet.
