Marc Benioff, the chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, is fast catching up to Zappos’ CEO Tony Hsieh (who tweets under the handle @zappos) as a social media exemplar. Benioff updates his Facebook and Twitter presence often, and his updates are almost always substantive and interesting. He updates about technology, causes he cares about, and competitors. Oh, and he updates about Salesforce.com, which walks the social walk by building in and adding on (through acquisition) social capabilities to its platform at a dizzying pace.
