Windows Store now open to all developers in 120 markets Today’s an especially great day to be a developer. We’re very excited to announce the last significant milestone in the rollout of the Windows Store before the general availability of Windows 8 on October 26. The Store is now open for app submissions from all developers – individuals and companies – in our supported markets, and we’ve added 82 more app submission markets! What kind of questions do you have the financials and what's ahead for Microsoft?
For me: first of all, that damn browser is at again. If billions of dollars go towards amending IE then that pretty much undoes all the good work that Sinofsky has been weaving. Post consent-decree, there is a certain amount of swaggering happening on the old SafeCo campus. Oy.
Today is a proud day. Some months ago I left the Workflow team to join a new effort in Azure. We conceived a new project, codenamed ZUMO and our goal was to make Windows Azure even more compelling to mobile developers.
We set about trying to get inside the mind of the modern app developer. We met with many individuals and companies building mobile apps on all kinds of platforms (many werenât Microsoft-centric developers). We spent many hours building apps that connected to Azure to see things from the other side of the fence. We surveyed the windows phone developer community and met with groups and individuals working on their awesome
