Inovis Debuts IndustryLink For RosettaNet

The new offering simplifies RosettaNet implementations, reducing the deployment time to one week instead of four or more.

Inovis Inc. on Tuesday released IndustryLink for RosettaNet at the U Connect 2004 conference. The software company says IndustryLink simplifies RosettaNet implementations with a complete out-of-the-box solution, reducing the deployment time to one week instead of four or more.

RosettaNet, a Uniform Code Council Inc. subsidiary, is a standards-based nonprofit consortium that has developed E-business Partner Interface Processes (PIPs) focused on automating data exchange between companies in the electronics industry. The consortium has more than 500 members and nearly 100 unique automated processes. Companies such as Intel, Microsoft, and Nokia are frequent users of the partner interface processes.

IndustryLink is designed to ease the processes of implementing and integrating these XML-based machine-to-machine E-business standards known as PIPs into a company's back-end infrastructure. Some of the processes are being rewritten in ebXML. "Most companies are still using the XML data formats," says Ram Viswanathan, director of product management at Inovis. "We do have the capability to support schemas, but it's in the early stages."

When transmitting business-to-business purchase orders, ship notices, or verifying product descriptions, Viswanathan says RosettaNet XML messaging is a secure method to comply with companies that insist on data automation between businesses.
