Interop Las Vegas is the premier independent event for the IT community. Building on its strong roots in network infrastructure, Interop has grown to include cloud, virtualization, mobility and more. This diversity is unique in the tech industry, and we’re continuing to expand our coverage to keep Interop a must-attend gathering. Here’s what’s new for the Las Vegas 2014 show.
3 Conferences in One
With the additions of Cloud Connect and the InformationWeek Conference, which will be co-located with Interop, we’re adding more education, training and strategic insight for IT practitioners and IT leaders.
The Interop Conference offers top-notch education for hard-core IT 'doers'. These technology professionals build things -- private clouds, networks, data centers -- and they make and influence buying decisions. The Interop Conference also keeps an eye to the future, both for technology and professional development. Case in point is an entire track dedicated to the Business of IT, designed for managers and directors eager to participate in strategic conversations.
Cloud Connect is a two-day summit that’s built around both a technology and a community. It’s designed to appeal to both technology stakeholders and business leaders alike and tackle the most pressing technology, policy and organizational challenges and opportunities for the cloud-enabled enterprise.
InformationWeek Conference is for CIOs and top-level technology executives. This conference brings together leaders from diverse industries to focus on how to leverage technology to drive the business. CIOs and other IT leaders can connect with their peers to share insights and strategy, and learn first-hand from executives at brand-name organizations how they are transforming their enterprises through information technology.
New Educational Opportunities
Interop Conference offers a variety of learning opportunities, from hands-on training, deep-dive workshops and information-packed sessions. We’re introducing 18 new workshops for Las Vegas. The most popular workshops for 2014 based on pre-registration include:
This year the conference, which runs from Wednesday to Friday, features more end-user speakers and a major overhaul of the Mobility and Infrastructure tracks. These two tracks are being chaired by IT experts Lee Badman, who runs the wireless network for a large university; and Ethan Banks, a network engineer and co-host of the PacketPushers podcast. We’ve also added a brand-new track dedicated to SDN.
Open to All Attendees
The Interop Conference is offering new content available to all attendees. New for 2014 is the Startup Hot Seat, where attendees will hear pitches from five new tech companies and engage in a live Q&A with founders and technical leads. We’re also introducing a new forum on Women in IT that will focus on women’s leadership in IT and discuss opportunities and challenges. We’ll also have panel discussions for key verticals, including government, financial services and education.
Interop is a resource for the IT community that goes beyond education. Meet up with peers and make new connections throughout the conference. We’re creating new spaces for attendees to gather, including the Interop Lobby Lounge, which will be located in the main corridor in front of the keynote entrance and the exhibit floor. Stop by the lounge to a break, recharge yourself (and all your devices) and meet other attendees.
Interop is also about fun. For the first time ever, we’re hosting a combined conference attendee and exhibitor party. Speakers and press are invited too! The party will be at Las Vegas’s newest nightclub, the Cirque du Soleil-themed Light, on Wednesday, April 2, starting at 7:00 PM -- food and drinks will be served. At 10:00 PM, the club opens to the public but our guests are welcome to stay.
Interop HQ / Social Media Hub
The Interop HQ serves as the central hub on the Expo Floor where you can power up, send some emails, or take a quick meeting. Come by to complete the Exhibitor Passport Program, grab Interop collectible pins, network with peers, meet Interop team members, and charge your devices.
