What’s Networking’s Future? Join The Discussion On E2 Radio

Join Packet Pushers co-founder Ethan Banks and your peers to talk about the future of data center networks, SDN and more.

The networking industry is undergoing major changes. New technologies such as software-defined networking have the potential to transform how data center networks operate. Bare-metal hardware and new network operating systems brings more choice to the market. And Ethernet fabrics built around TRILL and SPB give engineers and architects new design options.

Ethan Banks, a network engineer and Chair of the Infrastructure track at Interop, will get together with E2 Radio host Curt Franklin on February 13th for an in-depth discussion of the most pressing issues affecting data center networks. He’ll also participate in a live chat after the interview.

In addition to his work as a network engineer, Ethan is co-host of the popular Packet Pushers podcast and a prolific blogger. You can also catch Ethan live at Interop Las Vegas, where he’s presenting two sessions on the Ethernet switching landscape. The first session examines technologies such as SPB, TRILL, and MLAG in the context of new physical topologies and data center traffic patterns. Ethan will share practical context for taking advantage of these technologies.

The second session will look at more than a dozen offerings from large and small vendors alike, discuss strengths and weaknesses, and chart key differences such as power consumption, port-to-port latency and premium features.

Register now for the radio show, which airs live at 2:00 p.m. EST on February 13th, to join the conversation.

Network expert Ivan Pepelnjak will unravel the mysteries of SDN to help you sift through the hype and select the right design for your next-generation data center in his workshop “Designing The Virtual Network for the Software-Defined Data Center.” Register now for Interop Las Vegas.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
