Software vendor iUpload has introduced iUpload Perspectives, a new Web-services technology that lets content creators, using a variety of blog software packages, distribute blog posts to other sites.

The content-management and blogging software company unveiled its Perspectives technology at the Demo@15 trade show taking place in Scottsdale, Ariz., this week. Perspectives is now available to current iUpload customers.

Perspectives is similar in concept to RSS or Atom feeds, which encode blog posts in XML format so they can be read by news-aggregation sites such as my.yahoo.com or Bloglines.com, standalone news-aggregation applications, or Apple Computer's forthcoming browser revision Safari RSS.

But rather than simply making posts available for anyone to pick up, Perspectives offers a way to publish posts directly to other sites, particularly popular sites that utilize user-created content. For example, an ad for a product for sale in a blog could be cross-published as a "perspective" to become an ad in an eBay.com auction.

A critical distinction between a syndication feed like RSS and an iUpload perspective is that the latter incorporates control mechanisms for content distributors and content publishers. With these administration tools, sites such as eBay can review and authorize submitted content, and blog authors can control where their content goes.

At launch, outlets for Perspectives include customer-relationship and contact-management applications like Plaxo and Salesforce.com; search portals like Yahoo; social networking applications like Tribe; classified and auction sites like eBay; and blog-services sites like Flickr.com and Technorati.com.

"Perspectives further leverage blogs as that lowest common authoring denominator," says Robin Hopper, CEO of iUpload. "What it allows you to do is live in your blog, and as you post content, you can participate in diverse communities by applying the appropriate perspective."
