Candidacy Requirements
In its 20th year, the InformationWeek 500 tracks the IT practices of the nation's most innovative IT organizations, providing a unique opportunity to understand and examine the business practices of these firms across core areas of operations, including, technology deployment, IT budgets, business-technology infrastructure, and IT strategies.
The InformationWeek 500 is by invitation only. The criteria used in the selection process is determined by InformationWeek editors. To make the list, a company must demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural, and organizational innovation. Only organizations with $500 million or more in annual revenue are invited to participate in the study. If an organization qualifies, a follow-up email will be sent with a link to an online application. The deadline for submitting an application for the 2008 InformationWeek 500 is April 30, 2008.
Although InformationWeek 500 candidates reveal key elements of business-technology spending plans and budgets during the research process, the data is aggregated by industry for benchmarking purposes and individual responses are never disclosed.
Publication Date
The InformationWeek 500 for this year is scheduled to appear in print and online at http://www.informationweek.com on Sept. 15, 2008.
Why Participate?
Unique among technology lists, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders. By participating in the study, you'll be able to benchmark your organization's IT strategy against an unrivaled sampling of its peers, partners, and competitors. If your company makes the listing, it will also receive a free custom analysis report enabling you and your team to compare your IT initiatives to your peers. Completing the study also entitles you to a free copy of this year's InformationWeek 500 report. This study will be available to download on or after Sept. 15, 2008.
This year there are even more opportunities to be recognized. You may complete the entire application or choose to be recognized for specific achievements by submitting essays detailing key initiatives conducted by your IT organization in the past 12 months.
And by completing the qualifying study, your company will be entitled to one complimentary registration pass for a senior IT executive to attend the annual InformationWeek Conference, the premier event for senior IT executives. The conference will be held at The St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach, Davis Point, CA, September 14-16, 2008. Information on the event will be available at http://informationweekconference.com/.
Don't miss this opportunity for your company to receive the distinct honor of being recognized as one of the America's most innovative users of information technology.
What To Expect
This year's InformationWeek 500 is based on one InformationWeek Research study which can be completed entirely online. This comprehensive survey, written by InformationWeek editors, is used to identify the InformationWeek 500.
If your company is among the 500 companies to make this year's InformationWeek 500 ranking, an E-mail alert containing pertinent information on your company will be forwarded in June/July to confirm the accuracy of the information gathered. At the same time, it is possible that you might receive telephone calls and E-mails from InformationWeek reporters interested in interviewing members of your senior staff for the InformationWeek 500 issue. Marketing representatives from InformationWeek might also contact you if you have expressed interest in the InformationWeek Conference at The St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach, Davis Point, CA, September 14-16, 2008.
Protecting Your Privacy
Although InformationWeek 500 candidates reveal key elements of IT spending plans and budgets during the research process, the data is aggregated by industry and individual responses are never disclosed. Nor do we disclose individual contact information of participants to third parties or to companies not directly involved in the InformationWeek 500 study.
Why Complete The Essays?
We strongly recommend that you take time to complete one or all of the brief essay questions that are a part of this year’s InformationWeek 500 qualifying application. It offers an opportunity to tell us about initiatives that may not otherwise be referenced in the survey. It also provides the opportunity for your company to be recognized for specific achievements for key initiatives conducted by your IT organization in the past 12 months.
