There will be many more excellent applicants who can take their place. The new applicants may be no better ethically, but at least they have the benefit of the doubt for now. Perhaps swift, uncompromising action to enforce ethical standards will encourage the others.

Linux Proves Its Value
When I formed my company, I decided to use Linux based almost entirely on cost ("Windows Concerns Spur Linux Interest," Feb. 14, 2005). Since then, however, my reasons for remaining faithful to Linux have grown to include security issues, the availability of more office-productivity applications, and the overall stability of the operating system.
I'm methodically converting clients to Linux starting at the server level. This approach gives clients a sense of trust in Linux while at the same time illustrating the cost and performance benefits of converting from Microsoft products. I don't believe open source to simply be a "practical alternative" to Microsoft. Open source is the definitive standard in my business.
