The network effect will have a profound effect on how the cloud evolves
The cloud is about creating services.   Some of those services are SaaS applications, IaaS, PaaS and now a whole plethora of API services and services oriented to mobile, social and soon IOT internet of things.  On top of that is that the data of the whole world is moving to the cloud and all the bigdata of how all the information and services are being used.  We have all our personal information whether work related or personal going into the personal cloud, all our devices, media, digital content of all types from music, tv, educational materials, books, etc...

Now, once all this stuff is up there and accesible.  The implications in terms of how our lives change to leverage all this are mind boggling.  We have to get a handle on the security and privacy issues but that will depend on how the services evolve to use the information.  I believe it is unpredictable how we will leverage all this information but it is going to be a different and hopefully better world because of all this.  In any case I think it is unstoppable.   Any comments?
