Engineering best practices cross engineering disciplins
Sound logic to apply tested methodologies for improvement though it's not turn-key. Even in the industrial engineering sector there is tailoring needed; appropriate tailoring for the IT sector needs to be done with caution to adapt, rather than scrap, practices that may not seem to fit (some won't but most will). Skilled practitioners in Lean Six Sigma and CMMI already leverage many of the principles in and best practices of industial engineering to some extent even if they dont realize it.
