Bluetooth beats WiFi
IBM is talking up WiFi-based locaiton-based services for retailers through which they can offer opt-in/opt-out location services. If customers opt in, retailers can deliver targeted offers based on their shopping histories or location within a store. If they opt out you can still anonymously sense smart phone locations and use the data to track store traffic levels by department and time for better-informed staffing planning, says IBM.

Reading up on Apple's iBeacon technology, which is based on Bluetooth, I understand that its advantages include much better accuracy than WiFi. Can anybody share insight into the pros and cons of WiFi vs. Bluetooth location-based services?
