ICD-10 delay: how will you use the time wisely?
How much potential do you see to have a better outcome from the transition to ICD-10 with a one-year delay (assuming that's what it turns out to be)? How are you trying to capitalize on the extra time your organization is getting to prepare?

What's your list of things where you may have been thinking "I wish we had more time for X" -- and now you do?

Re: ICD-10 delay: how will you use the time wisely?
The delay won't significantly change the outcome, I expect.  If you weren't going to get it done for this year, you are almost certain to fail next year.

On the other hand, any delay is this is wonderful.  The untold billions of dollars this will cost, and the huge losses in reimbursements to providers over claims denied because of 'coding errors' real or imagined, are utterly unlikely to lead to any significant health improvements.  The real benefit is for bureaucrats who'll have more statistics to fiddle with, while actually accomplishing nothing.  But at least they'll be able to tell not just how many attacks by parrots there are every year, but what body parts were injured.

We can only pray for a long enough delay for there to be a change of administration and then a stake through the heart of this shambling monstrosity.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
