Great advice
Pay attention to what the company needs you to do -- not what the company wants you to have. That is a great point. You probably aren't a 100% match to every point mentioned in the job description. That shouldn't mean you're out.

I hope people on the hiring side think on that for a long moment, too. IT needs to stop looking for purple squirrels and start looking at the eager candidates sitting across the desk.
