The "Spoof this" challenge
Facebook is doing us a favor, as long as its free secuirty software downloads work as advertised. And why do I see malware makers spoofing this approach to get inside our computers all over again?

Re: The "Spoof this" challenge
I believe this to be a valid concern. However, if the code is not open-source which I doubt it would be, spoofers would have to follow the same rigourous techniques they would need to follow to spoof any enterprise security technique. This is an arduous task, however, its proven time and time again to be feasible.

Hopefully, TrendMicro is taken more of the responsibility in this endeavor.

Re: The "Spoof this" challenge
It could be good for those who don't already have protection, but I have to wonder who is paying for it.

Fighting malware
Obviously technology helps in the battle. However, the best way to fight malware is to invest in raising awareness and improving the education base so people better understand security best practices.  As the 2013 HP Ponemon Cost of Cyber Crime Report demonstrates, hacker sophistication has never been higher. People need to understand how to protect access.
