Re : Facebook Audio Recognition: What To Expect
Though I feel facebook has in a way copied shazam, the end product is just breath taking. Sometimes when I want to share a nice song, mostly a new song (name not familiar) I find it difficult and end up not sharing it all. It's like facebook read my mind when developing this feature can't wait to to try it because it looks very interesting. I just hope the software will prove to be compatible with the popular OS (android and IOS)

Re: odd
I don't think that's how they intend you to use it, though I'm sure some people will. It's meant to be more of a convenience factor to encourage you to share more (obviously so it can collect more data). Before, you'd have to type in what you were watching or listening to -- this will do that automatically.

Re: Just a Question.
I'm not sure -- you'll probably just have to try it out. Facebook says they're able to identify "millions of recorded songs or TV shows currently broadcasting on over 150 channels." If it doesn't match what you're watching or listening to, it might later down the road -- they'll be updating it with more.

odd
As someone who prefers to download music or rip it from a CD to store it on a local device, I just don't get how you could not know what you're listening too.

Facebook apps more of an oops
With this new addition of listening in to your environment added to the previous "Friends nearby" feature, even more reasons now exist to keep this app off of my phone. Especially since Facebook just has terrible ads no matter how nosy they try to be.

Just a Question.
@Kristin Burnham

Just curious, what about famous acapella songs?, those seem to be similar to a conversation. Seriously, I find it hard to believe that facebook will not capture conversations.
