Re: Good idea
Having to visit a new place is not always rosy at times since you can get lost on the way and you can end up not enjoying that visit anyway. For Washington DC introducing an app that can help you navigate through this beautiful city, then it is one remarkable step among others that technology is helping us take everyday in the course of our daily lives.

Re: Snooping on your rec time
I do think its a great idea for many cities not just DC it can increase tourism dollars spent and make a city more accessible. When I am concerned about apps I may use once or twice such as these I just uninstall after I am done. It keeps any privacy issues at bay and addresses the battery drain for too many updates.

Re: Snooping on your rec time
I would agree, love android devices but they aren't set up to be privacy protected. Not sure I would want to have my info available to all of the government hands that go with most of the five apps listed.

Snooping on your rec time
It should be emphasized that installing apps always comes with a pricetag on privacy, particularly when installing government flavored apps.  Fortunately for i-products, users can control what, if any data, is transmitted back to the Mother Ship. On the Android platform, not so much.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
