Another term for death panel
The only problem with value-based care is putting profits before patients.  Case in point based on a personally observed event:  the new Obamacare guidelines adversely affect nursing home patients whose health is failing. Before "value-based" decisions were implemented, a patient suffering from dementia and housed in a skilled nursing facility who developed a bed sore (or any other condition) could expect to be treated at a hospital because the SNIF would send her to a hospital to be treated. Now with "value" conscious Obamacare, that same patient won't be attended to because neither the hospital nor the SNIF will be compensated. Consequently, the patient dies a very quiet death. Isn't value-based care wonderful?
