Hybrid cloud can get you....
This is a good set of warnings by Kurt Marko. Well done. I think security in the cloud is as good as in the enterprise data center. But, and it's a big but, it will be hard to transfer the security that's applied to an application in the data center to the same application in the cloud. You can get some equivalent but unless the environments are extremely similar, it will be hard to transfer the firewall configured down to a fine granularity in the data center into the cloud along with the application. Will rough equivalency be good enough? What if it's too rough and leaves holes?

Stickiness
I think it's still early days for hybrid, but agree with Kurt that most companies will use a mix of private and public. The big question marks are, how tightly can they be linked? And, can IT avoid being locked in, given that all providers want stickiness?

Hybrid cloud data
Thanks for the guidance on the survey data, Kurt. I'm curious what you think of this part of the hybrid debate:  Is Hybrid Cloudy With A Chance Of Failure?
