These are really great points. It will be interesting to see what these services do to continue to differentiate themselves from each other--and what that will mean in terms of cost for customers.

A nice feature on a Mozy account vs Google Docs is you know your data is protected and secured on EMC gear. Who knows where and what Google is using.

Interesting direction being taken by Mozy. In this respect of combining the offerings of backup with file synchronization in the cloud, one other competitor for Mozy worth considering is Vembu technologies. They are a recognized leader in data protection services with their flagship product Storegrid and have recently launched SyncBlaze as a cloud content management solution.

Google still offers the best value file sync. I can sync 80GB for $20 a year to Google Docs with Syncdocs. Mozy charges me as much per month as Google does per year!
