re: Mozy Expands From Backup To File Sync
Google still offers the best value file sync. I can sync 80GB for $20 a year to Google Docs with Syncdocs. Mozy charges me as much per month as Google does per year!

Interesting direction being taken by Mozy. In this respect of combining the offerings of backup with file synchronization in the cloud, one other competitor for Mozy worth considering is Vembu technologies. They are a recognized leader in data protection services with their flagship product Storegrid and have recently launched SyncBlaze as a cloud content management solution.

A nice feature on a Mozy account vs Google Docs is you know your data is protected and secured on EMC gear. Who knows where and what Google is using.

These are really great points. It will be interesting to see what these services do to continue to differentiate themselves from each other--and what that will mean in terms of cost for customers.

InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
