Re: Internet of Things
Thanks for sharing the stats 30dB -- yep, agree - IoT has enormous support, which is also evidenced by many new standards inititiaves and alliances that are emerging.

Re: Internet of Things
To some extent I agree that "gamification" is another buzzword, which is why I try to avoid the term. What is interesting, howvever, are examples where businesses are redefining products and business models usining IoT releated technologies (Telematics, M2M, sensors...) but also wrapping these with applications and services that may incoprtate "game" like elements. This is obvioulsy happening in the consumer space, but also across areas such as healthcare, insurance, automotive, energy.

Re: Internet of Things
I think it is just another take on gamification. Right now it's another of the tech buzzwords.

I find it interesting that while the author is all on board for all this connectedness, I have no interest in such things. I work in IT and play online games for hours, so it should be obvious I have no fear of tech. It's just not that necessary and I don't see the benefits outweighing the cost.

Sometimes, you CAN have too much information, especially when you consider that info useless.

Re: Internet of Things
Seems like this has nothing to do with the Internet of Things, it's just a rehash of "gamification" that has been around for years.

Internet of Things
Most are already onboard with the Internet of Things.  Internet of Things indexes at 66% positive on Twitter and bumps up to 74% psoitive for the Twitterati's use of #IOT.  There are still plenty concerned about hacking and creepy app syndrome but it looks like pretty solid support so far for the future.
