re: SAP Takes On Oracle Database, Salesforce Cloud
Oracle has some great products/services, but after SAP reported their Q3 profits, it just shows that their strategy is paying off - they will continue to grow both organically and through acquisitions in 2012. They have loads of successful ongoing campaigns including Partner Edge, which has won various awards. Notably HANA and BusinessObjects look very promising for 2012, and they have launched lovehatedata talking around the debate of data.

There is an SAP Infographic on lovehatedata which is very interesting - it shows a breakdown of all the industry's they work in - there is no surprise they are doing so well.
