"My own view is that hybrid clouds represent a transition phase before a more complete move into the public cloud."

We are seeing in Europe the opposite in many organizations. Due to new privacy laws many businesses and government agencies are moving back to private clouds. But this could be a temporary move until the security and privacy issues are addressed properly

I personally think that these hybrid cloud notions like Fog or The Machine are so much noise. Ultimately we need to start accepting that our datacenter is not more secure than "the public cloud".

The major concern of cloud gets little faded in hybrid cloud as we can make approach for security and consistency which can match business fluidity.

Hybrid cloud is good for many things, for at least a decade
My own view is that hybrid clouds represent a transition phase before a more complete move into the public cloud. But that phase will easily last for the next 10, perhaps 20 years.
