Profits down, due in part to cloud investments
We report for IT leaders, not Wall Street, so profits aren't our top priority, but this figure is an important indicator of company health. SAP's profits were down 23% on the quarter, due largely to a €289 million charge related to litigation (brought seven years ago by Versata). The margin was also pinched by SAP's investments in building out cloud infrastrcture, but the company maintained it's full-year profit forecast.
