Re: Does PaaS bring development, operations closer together?
Is there reason to believe portability will be better among PaaS providers than it is elsewhere? It seems the industry standard tends to settle on "almost portable" between applications and operating systems.

Does PaaS bring development, operations closer together?
There's less discussion among developers that PaaS is about to disappear or become an embedded function of infrastructure as a service. The need is too great for platform support for cloud applications. Plus it helps move IT developers in the direction of DevOps, although it's not clear to me how that will play out on the various platforms.
