iPhone 6
The display problems experienced by Apple clearly shows how the company is obsessed about presenting the market with the thinnest ever smartphone. The last minute ditch to enhance the display of iPhone 6 definitely throws into doubt the availability of the iPhone after it will be launched on Sept. 9. But as Eric says, that we take announcements by sellers with a pinch of salt, may be they just want consumers to rush for the product that will be available in abundance.

passion for usability and perfection
Apple has such a passion for usability and perfection, I am not surprised that they give last minute changes to their suppliers. I am more surprised that year after year they manage to launch the shiny new iphone. Apple is a unique company. I am sure by now their suppliers have figured out how to work with their uniqueness.

Re: When will it start be embarassing for Apple?
True enough, but it's still better than releasing half-ready products, and then issueing a massive recall to correct the mistake.

When will it start be embarassing for Apple?
Again production woes? They had that for every single product released in the past decade. Apple might be fine in designing stuff, but they are lousy in executing. Sure, the Apple fanbois will still wait patiently in line for days to buy, but others might try, fail, and buy something else. This is not the way to grow business and reputation.
