I guess MYST was publushed in the 1990. It was really successful though. Many strategy games (I saw here) are based on it.

jesus h. i came on here hoping to find a specific title that i can't recall the name of but usually frequents 'best of' pc game lists. i'm on the third one in, fucking monopoly? out of all the games for pc's, classic and modern, fucking electronic monopoly cracks your list of the top 12. what an amateur ass list! no wonder nobody subscribes to this stupid ass website

actually myst was released in 1993. cyan didn't even start development until 1991, let alone 1989. also, "one of the most successful interactive cd roms in history," no it is THE most successful interactive cd rom in history. idiot.
