Telerik no platform slouch around the world
Stein spoke at a Telerik app development event in Palo Alto Aug. 28. Other developers speaking included Krupa Rochs, sr. manager of St. Jude Medical Clinical Data Systems and Long Le, principal app/dev architect at the commercial real estate market analysis firm, CBRE; also, Wayne Carter, chief architect of Couchbase. Telerik has headquarters in Bulgaria as well as Waltham, Mass., and is not the usual Silicon Valley whitebread: cofounded by Svetozar Georgiev, co-CEO; Vassil Terziev, co-CEO; Boyko Iaramov, chief process officer; and Hristo Kosev, chief scientist. It's highly regarded in Eastern Europe, and the development platform is used around the world. Licensing, ave. $2,000 a seat.

Any missteps on Mars app?
I'm curious to know whether there were software architecture decisions he made at the beginning of the process and regretted later, once the scope expanded so dramatically. Things like failing to track some bit of data from the beginning that was desirable to have for comparison later.
