Kinda like saying the Honda Accord outsold the Chevy Camaro (pick your muscle car). LTE is new enough that it isn't ubiquitous and therefore lots of folks don't even know to ask for it (plus the data plans are often priced higher than lower data plans offered for some 3G phones.

re: For Verizon, iPhone Outsells All LTE Android Smartphones
It's also unfair to compare 4G phone sales to iPhone or any other 3G phone sales due to the availability of accessible 4G coverage in existing markets. Nearly everyone has 3G coverage at this point, so there's no considerable discouraging factor to buying a 3G iPhone. However, many areas are still lacking decent 4G coverage, or any 4G coverage at all. Unless a person is in an area currently covered by 4G or slated to upgrade soon, there's no reason to spring for the 4G phone.

I'd be more interested in seeing the comparison of people who purchased 4G phones who live and/or work in an area of 4G coverage compared to iPhone sales of the same demographic. That might be a little more telling of which phone is preferred.

To show a measurable trend, compare LTE phones to Iphone sales from a year ago versus now. The appeal of LTE is very apparent. Especially to anybody that has used it.

re: For Verizon, iPhone Outsells All LTE Android Smartphones
4G LTE phones are a relatively new addition to the Verizon lineup. Comparing iPhone sales to 4G device sales does not paint a complete picture. A more telling number would have been to compare iPhone sales to total Android phone sales. Android would have been higher. And based upon latest numbers, iPhone sales are trailing off at Verizon. Android sales continue to increase.

InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
